Los Angeles Creative Industry Academy (LACIA) Will Return For A Second Year
Healing Inequity. Bringing Untapped Talent into the Creative Economy
Los Angeles Creative Industries Academy (LACIA) is seeking 6 fellows for its 2023 Youth Producer & Director Fellowship Program. LACIA exposes emerging culture bearers, producers and creatives from diverse and underserved communities to the training, skills and connections necessary to enter high paying careers in the creative industries.
The 2023 Youth Fellowship Program is organized in two cohorts, one focused on directing and one focused on producing. Each track will expose participants to the disciplines of directing and producing both live presentations and recorded/electronic media.
THE 2023 ACADEMY WILL:
Engage emerging and established practitioners in cross-sector project-based learning, enabling its Youth Producer Fellows to access entry points into the creative economy.
Provide technical and creative instruction accompanied by hands-on work that provides new knowledge, increased skills, and access to resources that can support their creative endeavors across the creative industries.
Produce a toolkit that each Fellow will build as a personal resource for ongoing growth and professional development.
Provide connections to decision-makers who may be able to mentor and clear pathways for entrance into career opportunities.
Each Academy Fellow will:
Complete a curriculum of instruction enhanced by project-based assignments.
Engage with content-specific presenters who share their stories and professional journeys to help fellows to develop their creative, administrative and team building skills.
Receive $1,000 stipend upon completion.
